People like eating dishes from meat, borsh (soup with beetroot, meat and cabbage), pelmeni, holodetz (meat in jelly), many kinds of baked things, sausages, shashlyks (barbeque). People in the northern regions eat raw frozen meat and fish.
Bread is in special honour in Russian tradition.
In the most regions of Russia vegetables and fruit grow only in summer and people store them for winter in home made cans.
Holiday food is very rich. People cook meat dishes, salads with many ingredients.
